SEOUL — The 2006 Korean hit movie “Tajja” (aka “Tazza: the High Rollers”) has been remade as a TV series for broadcaster SBS.
Original gambling actioner, which was based on well known cartoon series, was helmed by Choi Dong-hoon and produced by Sidus FNH. It was seen by 6.85 million people and grossed some $44 million at the local box office.
For the SBS skein actor Jang Hyuk replaces Cho Seung-woo as lead character Goni, while Kang Sung-yeon replaces Kim Hye-soo as Madam Jung, and Kim Ghab-soo stands in for Kim Yun-seok as Ah-gwi. Kim Min-jun joins the cast as a dual character likened to Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader.
But the switch-arounds are seen as little problem for auds. The comic book series penned by Hur Young-man represented classic pulp fiction as it came in four volumes each with different characters.
A film sequel, “Tazza 2,” helmed by wunderkind Jang Jun-hwan (“Save the Green Planet”) is set for release at the end of the year.

Story basically about gambling which involved a guy named Goni ( Jang Hyuk ), who wanted to help his friends, Young Min (Kim Min Joon), to get money for Young Min’s grandma operation.
However, turns out that Young Min became working under Ah Gwi (Kim Gab Soo), a Gambling house owner which is called ‘House’.
He then was put in jail for the crime that he did not do. He met people in jail that will change his life later on.
He then learned from the top Tazza players in hope of getting revenge to Ah Gwi, who took Young Min from him and killed his father.
Notes: Actually, the start of the drama mostly talked about Goni and Naan Sook ( his childhood love).
Then, the peak of the drama came in the middle of the drama, where he gets in jail for crime that he did not committed.
He met a few people in jail that will help him in cheats Ah Gwi. It seems like a bit of Ocean Eleven (American Movie).
The drama did played it quite well off in putting the drama to end. Unexpectedly from Madam Jang, who is the follower of Ah Gwi, is the one who put Ah Gwi off. Putting a gun onto his head and pull the trigger.
Madam Jang who played by Kim Sung Yun really pulled me off with her acting in this drama. The last scene which she killed Ah Gwi, is the best scene ever.
Recommend this drama to watch. Hope you guys love it.
